L'Oscar du meilleur film (Academy Award for Best Picture) est décerné depuis 1929 par l'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Il est remis au(x) producteur(s) des films (ou aux studios pour les cérémonies antérieures à 1951), et non à leur réalisateur. Le nombre de films nommés fut longtemps limité à 5. Il doubla en 2010 et 2011 avant d'être fixé, depuis 2012, entre 5 et 10 nominations. À partir de 1952, les producteurs sont nommés à la place des studios. Cependant lors de la remise du prix, les noms des sociétés de productions sont indiqués.
